Yeah the sounds and animations of mountain thane are really satisfying and cool, even though it doesnt really change up how the spec plays at all I really enjoy it!

There is something satisfying about seeing moonfires mow down all your enemies. Just need some cool visuals from Elune's Chosen maybe!

Maybe, I'm just a bit skeptical as their main M+ issues haven't been addressed whatsoever in the rework, so I kind of expect for them to have the same problems once keys start to actually get high as they do now.

Honestly across the board I wouldn't say any tank is way more complex than another, so the best choice as someone starting out is the spec you're most interested in, whether that be playstyle, class fantasy, or something else entirely. If you like the spec you're playing you're much more likely to do better as a tank imo!

Would definitely be down for that, though notably as of this response the weapons have been changed a bit, pressing wings no longer rerolls weapons and the duration can go up to ~26s so you get some value by pressing a weapon early. Also, all the strength from the weapons now comes from the paladin themselves, so you're just looking to buff targets that are capping out your procs and you don't care about having 2 weapons out at once.

Yeah there's definitely a lot of value in additional interrupts this season, so if prot paladin gets their issues fixed they'll be in a nice spot for sure!

No problem at all! Definitely is a learning curve swapping to a new spec initially, but I don't think BDK is too much more complicated than bear, so I'm sure you'll do great!

I actually havent done any delve testing yet, I know what I'll be doing next though haha

Unfortunately my knowledge on healers is no where near tanks, so I don't think I'd be able to do an accurate video.

Without having extra targets to hit their ST is the lowest among all tanks currently, plus they don't have super powerful raid utility. It's not like they're bad, but outside of monk buff I don't see a reason to bring them.

@Tactyks I'd argue they have more utility than 2-3 tanks. They also can cheese mechs if played well, simultaneously, dish out decent damage. While MWs may be the "go to" for Monks, Brews are definitely not a last place tank. This is, of course, assuming that dps doesn't sway us on tank selections. Which tbf, you've stated that before.

If the healing is to others I'd agree, but when it comes to healing yourself specifically I don't think tanks should be reliant on healers. You can give healers something to do without making tanks feel weak imo, and no one wants to play a spec that feels weak.

@Tactyks A tanks job is to grab and hold aggro, not to heal themselves so much that there is no need for healers.

@@neener461 Hard disagree, and like I said tanks being able to heal themselves doesnt mean there's no need for healers, you can give them something to do without making tanks weak. If you look at all the "no healer" keys being done, NONE of them are because the tank can self-sustain. They're all because DPS Players can self-sustain, thanks to having too many defensive options, powerful off-healing, and generally not a lot of unavoidable group damage in certain dungeons.

Yup, been a big complaint of mine and others since we first saw the tree in Dragonflight beta and it's still a thing for some reason :(

In raids in particular they do quite a bit of offhealing yeah, its not their main job but is really helpful on mythic progression specifically.

Specifically for raid yeah, in a pure ST environment they have pretty bad damage compared to other tanks and don't bring any special utility to raid.

As a tank the best racials by far are dwarf/dark iron to cleanse debuffs off yourself, outside of that none of the racials are super impactful so you can kind of play whatever you prefer.

@@Tactyks and is Dark Iron Dwarf just a straight upgrade from regular Dwarf in terms of their racial ability? Or does Dwarf cleanse some things that Dark Iron doesn’t?

@@mjohn3126 Dwarves have a passive increase to crit damage, whereas Dark Iron gets primary stat when they cleanse a debuff, so that's the main difference. Usually most people prefer dwarf for that but the difference is extremely minor

Yeah it's super disappointing, I believe Guardian has the least changes of any spec currently going into the expansion which kind of sucks. It's not like it needed a ton, but to get nothing but ANOTHER general tree rework that doesn't address the problems of the tree feels kinda bad.

Nah, no healer keys don't really have anything to do with tank sustain and are more a combination of strong off-healing CDs (like vampiric embrace/nature's vigil), DPS specs having too many defensives, and specific keys having little to no unavoidable damage. The current issue is specifically with a certain type of healing that not all tanks even use (BDK for example is unaffected) and is likely just an oversight, similar to what happened back in DF beta when they buffed health pools.

The overall output is definitely really high, I'm just worried that their main issue in high keys (dying to regular melee swings) hasn't really been addressed with the talent rework and could still potentially crop up at the highest level of M+. That being said if you're not someone looking to push super high and instead just do weekly keys for vault I think they are an extremely powerful choice!

@@davidmacedo2777 damage and durability, in keys up to a +10 at least they feel quite sturdy and pump out dps but it's hard to say if they'll continue to stay sturdy once you start pushing past that +12 threshold.

That's definitely what happened in DF thanks to repeated nerfs throughout season 1, but I don't think it's a general pattern, at least looking back at SL/BfA. Hopefully the spec doesn't get over-nerfed like it was in DF!

Yeah I'm always a bit skeptical about the state of BDK in high keys, they're always super tanky until they aren't. They don't have the DRW uptime they had back in SL S3/S4 and haven't gained any other tools to help with their weakness to melee swings, so while they are looking good on the relatively low level beta keys people are doing, I am concerned it won't translate to 0.1% title keys and higher. That being said it's exceptionally strong outside of that so if you aren't pushing super hard it'll be a great pick.

VDH is definitely less fun than it is now imo (due to loss of tier/haste values, not just sigil stuff), but I think what is really helping them over some of the other tank specs is the value their hero trees give them. That being said, as I mentioned near the end of the video I can see some small changes launching both BDK/Ppal ahead of them in keys, but currently I think if you look at their damage output with chaos brand and their general durability they aren't in a terrible spot, even if its worse than it is currently in DF.

@@Tactyks sadly tanks and healers are work the same you play meta or you left behind no matter what no invites sadly thr community only follows the meta or have 4 other friends to play with.

Yeah, the 4s grace period from Sanctuary is nice but I still totally get the frustration! It's definitely a good time to try another tank as a lot of them are looking great.
